Apple products are famous for three things: absolute technology, feverish launches, and frenzy queues outside Apple stores irrespective of the world boundaries. But considering the fact that Apple’s censorship stance, restrictive policies and abuse of offshore labor, not going very well with the consumers, we couldn’t help but hate “Apple”. Read on to know the 10 reasons to hate Apple products as compiled by AskMen.

10. Apple’s Products Cost A Titanic

If Apple’s bête-noires are considered, especially Android and Microsoft, they work hand in hands with their OEM partners and the mutual competition between OEMs like Sony, Samsung, Nokia and Dell ensures that customers get to play their choices- be with price tags or specifications of the devices. Apple on the contrary aims at top notch technology market and doesn’t care a dust to bring budget priced models. So if you want to lay your hands on Apple products and want to bargain over prices, then Apple is not for you.

9. No Naughty Software Allowed

Even if you put aside Apple’s hard-line stance on porn, you get other reasons to hate it, especially for clipping your wings when it comes to Apple’s mobile devices. You are not allowed to use software of questionable legality like versions of classic video games; video downloads from torrents or any other software with dark shade. While such softwares are allowed on Apple Macs and laptops, they are outcasts when it comes to the mobile devices.

8. Siri’s Discrimination

Siri, the virtual assistant for wide variety of voice guided searches and responses, doesn’t deliver the same credible assistant once the boundaries are crossed or we can say when it gets tested with not so familiar landscape like India or Australia. So if you are not in U.S. Siri won’t remember even your favorite joint right around the corner and there’s problem in recognizing accents too. For all that Apple device costs and the extra money the non U.S. consumers put in, yet Siri will treat you differently.

7. Breaking Up With Apple, Your Money Will Be In Drain

If you want to break up with Apple then it’s not that easy to go on different ways. With your stint with Apple you have had put a lot of your money in purchasing significant amount of music, videos and software on Apple devices, breaking up means your money is flushed down the drain.

6. Transferring Files To iDevices Is Painful

If you are in mood to grab some videos and music on your iPad or iPhone quickly for an outing decided on spur of the moment, you better be not in haste; it’s not as easy as plug a USB, drag and drop the content from a computer. Apple makes sure that you jump through hoops before getting anything on your iPad or iPhone. The music files and videos had to be converted to compatible formats before they can be accepted by Apple mobile devices. In other cases you may have to buy flexible video player apps through iTunes. So Apple makes it very difficult for non-iTunes content to get into your device.

5. Apple Refuses To Give You The Keys

If you are a curious Tom who wants to have a peek at what’s in Apple devices, well your curiosity will not be quenched at all. The Macs, iPhones and iPads are all sealed up tightly, and deny any advances to explore them without actually causing harm. And even if you are not curious, just wanted to get a loose screw tightened, or replace a battery, you have to take it to licensed Apple repairer and pull some cash out of your wallet; it’s the norm with both major and minor hackles with Apple products.

4. Android

More Recently Android is making Apple to run for bucks. Android is getting omniscient, thanks for its host of advantages: it is flexible with software and file transfer, it is cheaper and offers’ performance you won’t feel sorry for not having an Apple, and it makes you forget Siri too as its voice control is integrated across everything, including launching apps and directing you in the car.

3. Apple Refuses To Support Flash

Apple takes rivalry to extremes and its refusal to support flash could be the good example. Taking from the leaf of Apple’s book of moments, the refusal to support flash which was a standard for majority of websites is the apt answer by Steve Job to Adobe’s refusal to create its popular software for the early Macs, and Apple, at that time Apple was struggling with poor market share. The tables are turned and Apple now wears the crown in electronics consumer market, and also led to adopt HTML5 as the new standard for various websites.

2. Chinese Sweatshops

The reports about Foxconn, which manufactures Apple devices, exposed inhuman conditions which the employees are subjected to. There were reports that many employees jumped to death from the heights of manufacturing unit that the factory is now placed nets at the base of the buildings.

The other companies like Samsung, Sony and Nintendo use the same Foxconn factories as Apple does, but having the status as the first among peers, Apple should have had taken some initiation to act on labor issues.

1. Apple’s Censorship

Something which the company opposed so vehemently in its starting years, it’s sad to see Apple increasingly becoming the “Big Brother” figure itself.

The early TV ads depicted Apple as the rebel, throwing a sledgehammer into Orwellian Big Brother figure. The Apple followed up this vigor with its “Think Different” campaign which celebrated the history’s greatest rebels and creative thinkers.  The company had been successful on the premise of supporting creativity, rebelliousness and artistry till now. But the concerns are mounting up with company’s increased stand in trying to play a Big Brother.

Apple has come up with a staunch refusal to allow pornography to be distributed via any of its channels. It’s the most famous instance of censorship that the company wrought on the Apple consumers. And recently a science magazine was banned from Apple devices for a story about male reproductive organ myth. In contrast Apple has no issue with female-sex-tip-filled magazines.

Apple has then gone a step forward; it filed a patent which would disable your iPhone’s ability to record video while you’re attending a music concert. Think what wreak it can cause if the same technology gets adopted by the government that can quill any voice, photo, or footage of some political unrest. Apple’s censorship is more of oppression now.
